I think I recently went through HP's entire current product line that is
readily available in stores within the US. They pretty much (if not all)
require a more recent version of HPLIP than is available in Trisquel 6.
However that said there might have been something available for particular
categories that I wrote off. My focus was mainly on consumer-oriented
printers. I might be mistaken about another category of printer. For instance
maybe there are some $2,000 USD + printers or similar still available. I
probably stopped at around the $1000 USD mark.
Quite honestly I don't feel like going through all the printers to provide
more solid info here. It is time consuming and I probably spent hours doing
it already (twice I think). If somebody really wants to do it right and
document it all they could. It would provide for a while something a tad bit
better than what we have now. All they'd need to do is look at HP's site and
do the research using HP's Recommended Printer Models list. You have to go
and look up each model and then check three or four things related to
plug-ins, firmware, HPLIP version, and ???. In any case. Have fun.
I guess I'll put a price tag on it in case somebody really really wants this.
I'll do it if someone wants to donate $500.00 USD to the Trisquel project.
Just contact me first place so I have the opertunity to commit/back out if
things change (I'm mainly referring to people who might read this at some
future date).
