While I have no experience with Replicant, which makes it impossible for me  
to help answering the questions made, I would like to point something out:  
using replicant does not make it impossible for you to be spied on. It makes  
a tiny bit harder, but you can still be spied just the same. The problem with  
smartphones is actually the way they are built (physically speaking) and not  
really the software. Using free software is good in many ways, but will do  
little to protect you from surveillance/spying/etc.
I don't know if this is important to you or not, but just wanted to let you  
guys know =)
