Currenly I use eCantorix, a singing synthesis frontend for espeak released unter the GNU GPLv3. eCantorix is not supported by Cadencii, so I will have to use Rosegarden.

Recently I tried to use v.Connect-STAND with jcadencii. Both programs are
released under the GNU GPL v3. v.Connect-STAND is only avialable as a windows
binary at the moment, you can use wine to run it. jcadencii was originally
written to run VOCALOID on Mac OS X. VOCALOID is nonfree software that only
runs on Windows. AquesTone is also nonfree. VST plugins cannot be free
software as the SDKs license is nonfree.
