If you really want a Trisquel system with LightDM, you had better try to install Trisquel's NetIntsall, followed by LightDM and eventually your desktop of choice... but will GNOME be available? Trisquel's GNOME probably depends on the specific version of Plymouth.
Trisquel has patched Plymouth (for accessibility reason?). If you try to
remove those packages, most of the system goes with it.
