It respects your fundamental rights as a computer user to inspect, study,  
modify and share the software running on your computer. It's basically a  
community-owned and community-controlled public good that can be trusted not  
to have malicious features acting against you as opposed to proprietary  
software (like Windows 7) that is owned and controlled by a private entity  
you are expected to trust blindly.
