We've had this discussion before where kernels matching the Ubuntu release
may be the best for stability. Sure, you can always get the most bleeding
edge kernel available, but the ones from Ubuntu are tested for that OS and
all jxself or Ruben have to do is blacklist and remove specific non-free
components.
