That's interesting. My computer has the athlon 64 4600+ processor but with a  
nvidia graphics card and I get the exact same problem with only the gnome  
edition of trisquel - I cannot get past the log-in screen on the live cd and  
if I install it then the screen goes black for a split second before  
returning to the login screen.
