Take a look at https://trisquel.info/en/forum/upgrade-xfce#comment-47702 .Next time you loose "minimize, maximize, close", titlebar and edges (window decorations) you can restart (or start another window manager). For the window manager that comes with XFCE run:
xfwm4 --replace
