The commands I found do not solve your problem?I guess you could indeed install an older Linux-libre kernel (and select it from GRUB but, for safety, you had keep your current kernel installed for some time). The game is to find such an older kernel! gNewSense provides deb packages for Linux-libre 2.6.32: http://us.archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-three/gnewsense/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/
Would you find anything newer (yet older than the 3.0 version)?
