If I properly understand the page 157 of

then your processor includes an Intel 945 GM graphical chipset. If you can  
use it, you will have much better performances (including 3D acceleration,  
video decoding acceleration, etc.) for a reduced power consumption. One way i  
to physically remove the AMD video card.

But check first that you indeed have the Intel graphical chipset. The 'lspci'  
command should list it.
