Dear fellow Trisquelians,
Previously I ran Trisquel 6.1 with a KDE environment. Earlier this week I
updated my OS to Trisquel 7 through a package manager. Unfortunately, when I
booted into my fresh KDE environment, the screen froze up. The mouse and
keyboard was locked--and so were the widgets. I did a few hard reboots and
tried again. Other environs like the default and gnome were okay and allowed
me to run updates, but KDE was still broken. I then tried a re-install via
DVD installer. Only the text installer worked (other installers modes, like
graphic, froze up). When I did manage to get an install done and add
KDE--when I booted into the environ, the mouse could move this time but I
could not click on anything. Slight improvement. I tried 2 DVD installs and a
CD install. This time, only the gnome GUI worked.
Installing 6 and 6.1 was smooth so I am not sure why 7.0 has issues. I am
currently using another GNU/Linux distro (albeit non-fsf approved).
Do you suppose I should hold out while the Trisquel installers are updated?
Perhaps 7.0 is too fresh and needs tinkering.
Please advise and thanks!
