As an infant (55) with a mere 17 years of GNU/Linux use I still find myself
doing things like 'checking out Parabola' [on a spare machine] just to see
what it's like. And, of course, when Gnome made its big change like lots of
people I tried loadsa desktops to find what was the best desktop for me. The
answer is any of them. Because I can use shell, Emacs, QuodLibet and a
browser with much the same lack of fuss in any DE.
Which leads me to ask are you too a Terminal Recidivist?
Anyway distro hopping teaches the primary skills of an alpha or beta tester.
So if you ever retire I suggest you take it up as a hobby.
