Could you check if autoFS is installed? If it wasn't installed, install it and reboot.
If it was installed, please, insert the usb, summon a terminal, and type the following:
$ sudo fdisk -l And paste the output in the forums so we can look at it. Then type: $ sudo blkid And paste the output. Let's see if there is a problem with the format.
