The EFF is a fake organization controlled by the establishment itself.

So, I wouldn't trust what it says about the best way to evade surveillance
from that same establishment.
Free Software can be designed, on purpose, to be insecure.
And, the "Heartbleed bug" story revealed (among other things) that there are
such things as "bugdoors", that are apparently placed on purpose to make Free
Software insecure.
If you all want to regain your Privacy, get rid of Police State-like
governments.
Also, the most important thing in protecting your privacy, is knowing (or
learning) who to trust in.
And, if you trust organizations such as the EFF, you've just failed in that
most important aspect.
