[Trisquel-users] ATI Mobility x300 on Trisquel 7

I have an old laptop that I'm preparing to give to someone and it has an ATI  
Radeon Mobility x300. I was using Trisquel 6.0.1 on that machine and it  
worked well. It would suspend/resume and hibernate/wake just fine. Also the  
video mode was at an acceptable 1280x1024. I upgraded this to Trisquel 7.0  
and now the graphics have fallen back to using a "VGA Compatible" mode and it  
is causing suspend to not work and the highest video mode is 1024x768.

Any ideas as to why this is happening in Trisquel 7.0 and not Trisquel 6.0.1?
