The nouveau driver has better support for the older graphics chips which is  
why we ship those rather than the new ones. There are also regressions to  
worry about. There are also other factors to consider like there may be  
support for the GPU, but if things aren't setup right the card may overheat,  
or the default settings might be set to high on the fan, as there is no  
software support control it.
