[Trisquel-users] Expandable or adjustable panel seperator

Hi Everyone,
Is there a way to add an adjustable separator to the Trisquel 7 panel?
I'd like to add a transparent gap between the menu dropdown and my  
application shortcuts. The separator provided is simply a 1px bar and it  
can't be made transparent or customized.
