I think using a reputable VPN is fair enough- if anyone got into any trouble  
via the VPN connection, or any evidence at all was gained that the VPN was  
snooping, it'd go out of buisness pretty much overnight. I think the risk  
would be too great for the VPN host, so they probably wouldn't snoop or any  
such thing. However, you are taking a risk, and there's always the chance.
