Yancy is pretty cool, and desktop search is definitely a good thing ... but it can't ever really replace a search engine's legion of spiders. Please, please prove me wrong on that. One huge hurdle is that a simple list of websites and pages - without even containing the full text to search through - is terabytes in size. Worse, when a page changes you'd have to download a whole index again. I just can't see anybody doing that ...
