The standard edition has Duplicity and Deja Dup installed by default. On the standard edition of Trisquel, click the start menu --> System Settings --> System --> Back Up.

If you are using Trisquel Mini or some other variation of Trisquel, and don't have this backup software installed, you should install it. Open the Terminal and type in "sudo apt-get install deja-dup" and press the Enter key. I think that this will also download Duplicity as a dependency. Hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Once installed, you should choose a external memory device (USB harddrive, USB flash memory, SD card, etc) for your backups. Deja Dup will ask you to plug it in to the computer and select it for future back ups.
