[Trisquel-users] Connect Trisquel to popcorn hour (ethernet cable sharing files)

Hey,

I have a popcorn hour a-100. It's a media player that can, apparently,  
connect through cable (rj45, or ethernet) to a network and play files that  
are shared in that network.
I have connected the laptop to the player (directly, cable from laptop to  
player) and installed samba and nfs-kernel-server. Tried using dhcp  
automatic, tried mannually configuring ip, but still neither trisquel or the  
popcorn hour can see each other.. Tried with 2 different cables, that I know  
are in perfect condition.

Any idea how to connect my laptop to this laptop, so I can share a folder and  
have the player play files from it??
