Sounds like there could be a place for a free song repository, using free  
formats which can work not just Performous, but any other UltraStar forks  
that are still active, and any other libre karaoke game anyone decides to  
make. Copyright issues would have to be considered, but maybe focus on songs  
people like to sing/play that are under CreativeCommons.

How do people feel about songs under an NC clause? I know it's not full  
libre, but I have sympathy with musicians wanting people to freely share  
their music, but not wanting record companies to sell it without their  
permission if they manage to build an audience. Accepting songs under NC  
license would vastly expand the number of songs that could be included.
