According to  
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_%28operating_system%29#History_and_development_process  
the versions of the packages in Ubuntu are frozen only one month before the  
release. I guess that, on the Trisquel side, much of the work that would be  
started earlier may have to be redone.
