Um, I don't know what you were trying to get at here, but the way you're saying it makes it sound like you expect /home to somehow being somewhere else when it's in a different partition. That's not how it works. The path to /home is always /home, regardless of how you set up the partitions.
The only way to tell how your partitions are set up is through something like Disks or GParted.
