I hit F6 and changed it to apci=off and nomodeset, and then was greeted by  
the issue of there being "no free firmware".

I've searched around and it looks like I'm going to have to tinker with a  
whole bunch of UEFI settings to get it working. I will report back if/when I  
get it working to let people know. I've run out of time and I'm back to work.
