very brave that you deleted windows from your PC in favor of Trisquel.
Perhaps the above answers were too indirect. If you want a step-by-step
solution, here's one.
1. Go to the following page:

2. Order the adapter ($25) and wait for it to arrive.
3. Return the adapter you purchased from amazon.
4. Plug the new adapter into your computer. It will be immediately recognized
and you will be able to connect in the expected way.
That's it! If you want a long range adapter, it can be found on the same
site.
This is all assuming your current adapter is incompatible - first make sure
that is the case!
