I wasn't using the internal hard drive but it might have been mounted same
with the external. I do not think I had anything running on the drives and I
think both my laptop and external drive do not spin when they are not being
actively used.
Well I guess might have to take both the internal and external hard drives
and reconnect them. I notice that this seems to fix the problem as I have had
this issue with external hard drives I dropped in the pass. Well it doesn't
happen now because I have a lapdesk that has pockets with a zipper that seem
to be for portable hard drives because of the shape of it and size. So now
they don't fall off from the lapdesk anymore. :)
I was using as I am now trisquel 7 off of a sandisk 15 gb flash drive usb at
the time of the accidental drop.
I ripped several cds and they all turned out good so the dvd drive seems to
be okay the internal one.
Well I just decided to ask here for advice cause I think taking something
apart should be the last resort or maybe I am wrong?
I need to clean my laptop anyways from the scratch on top and dust. So I
think I will just take it apart.
How can I open a portable hard drive without breaking the case? With the
toshiba portable hd I broke the case from trying to open it. so eventually I
will have to buy one for it later on when I have the money.
What cases you guys recommend that are easier to open and put back together?
I think the drives are standard laptop size since they are portable probably
they are 2.5" drives. Well at least they(my external hds) look the same size
as the one in my laptop when I took it apart to replace the fan.
