The terminal response to the recommended command is:  01:05.0 VGA compatible  
controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS482M [Mobility Radeon  
Xpress 200]
My System Settings Display page says I have "1024 X 768 (4:3)" and offers no  
other option.
Mario's problems in earlier forum issue recommendation hasn't cleared up  
anything for me.
I should point out that in the Trisquel previous to 7.0 I had no problem.
