Except that any developer can rather easily distribute a modified version (under another name and with other logos, what is fine as a policy) that is Firefox minus the signature checks. That is a very significant difference!
This effectively amounts to an iOS-style DRM scheme, disallowing to install
any extensions not coming from Mozilla.
