I remember reading on XDA that Verizon lock their bootloaders. So CM may not
be possible (it's not officially listed). Your options are: 1. Look in the
unofficial ports page on the CM website, as they only officially support a
device if almost everything works. 2. Browse the relevant forum on XDA to
look for some custom or experimental Android build someone made. 3. Browse
the relevant forums and look for a root exploit so you can at least remove
Google apps and Samsung bloat. You should install F-Droid FOSS App repository
whatever happens! 4. Do some development yourself if you feel you have the
relevant reverse-engineering and low level C programming skill. Not for the
faint-hearted though...
