As far as I am aware, no I don't have any other stuff running on the  
background. And truth be said, I only see kworker eating my CPU,no other  
processes.
I ran the command you suggested and there was no "recoll" or "recollindex" on  
the list. I will try to run that again when I have the issue happening.
I have decided that for now I will simply not use suspend/hibernate/whatever  
since that apparently prevents the issue from happening. Also, I was offered  
a cooler pad recently and it should alleviate the heating up if and when it  
happens.

As for hardware I don't know... I don't use the ethernet port, so I shouldn't  
have to disable it right? Same for webcam?
