Ah, so that's the reason for the absence of those folders.
Thanks for the info.
Ok, so let's recap:
For eth0, I've written 2 lines in /etc/network/interfaces.
It seems I can also make it work with a few commands.
Now I'm installing wicd, thus I need to put the interfaces file back to what
it was. This should allow me to manage all my interfaces and connections
without headaches, hopefully.
It's heavier than wpa_supplicant, but probably easier in the long run (more
networks, no complex steps to remember...). Well, if I can install it,
because there's a problem with Synaptic ("Glib-CRITICAL something. I'll try
from the CLI).
If satisfied with that networking aspect, I'll reinstall the whole thing from
scratch and focus on the "absence" of grub.
I have some other issues, like xbkcomp errors (but not affecting a thing),
and xmodmap not working (I want to switch 2 keys, and maybe remap another
one).
grsecurity is probably overkill (very effective, but too much time to
configure, I expect), so I'll focus on Firejail with Apparmor for now.
