Instill use Thunderbird for work related emails and it has matured to the point where it is stable and does what I need it to. Heck, I don't use any extensions.
Thunderbird is getting updated (now on v45) but there are no major changes
with each release. As others have said, the industry has moved towards web
based email or email via the programs on your Android or iPhone. That's also
if you are using email at all since most consumers stick to texting, Facebook
messenger, and Snapchat.
