[Trisquel-users] ATI blobs?

Hi, is know that ATI/AMD chips are almost useless without blobs (yes, tested  
myself some grahics chips). My question is:

Does all old "ATI" graphics chips need to run blobs?

Gentoo's wiki says: Microcode is required for R600 and newer GPUs.

So R600 is HD2400-2900, HD3450-3870...

I have some Ati Radeon 9600 and 9600 pro, all AGP versions.
