If society (where this happened) decided that the alleged bad behaviour warrants accountability, then the complainant can identify her forum and start that process.

If there's a civil claim then both sides would have the discovery process. If an administrative tribunal complaint, the tribunal might have some process to ensure fairness too. If criminal then the he's alone against the state and to balance that he wouldn't have to say anything at all.

But right now it's an accusation outside of any defined processes. Yet there might still be consequences. If he responds, is it possible that his response could fuel more comments about this on the Internet?
