I've submitted a comment (also calling for EOMA68 compatibility). I have
neither any hope of success nor any intention of forking out money for either
a smartphone or something from Purism, but (I believe) we might as well try
to steer this project towards something beneficial, given the company
wouldn't listen to our calls.
I support Purism's efforts to liberate Intel processors, but I find it sad
they sell half-liberated stuff containing those very processors with the
claim the funds help, all the while attacking companies whose work has
actually shown results. If they were software freedom activists in more than
words, they would surely at least have put some work into more promising
alternatives (like ARM laptops) as well as pleading with a company that
wouldn't listen to Google.
Anyway, it might be a good idea to submit some comment asking for EOMA68
compatibility, just to make sure it at least gets their attention. I can
upload my comment if anyone wants it.
