I was advised to learn python by the vast majority of hacker mates I am in contact with on jabber/mail/forum/etc
The book most of them recommended is ThinkPython -> http://www.greenteapress.com/thinkpython/thinkpython.html
It did not work for me. I have no real interest in programming, I guess, or predisposition.
