Um, I think the subject line is a little misleading. GnuPG modern (2.1) is
the brand new version with enhanced features like support for Elliptic Curve
Cryptography. It will eventually replace the current stable (2.0.) So it's
not like stable will die. Rather, stable will consist of a new version: 2.1.
GNU/Linux distros will upgrade to 2.1 and life will continue with that as the
new stable.
