Simple answwer: There are some bugs that need work.Like the fact that when you go type in the search engine the first time, sometimes it just erases what you wrote and then doesn't go anywhere.
that's my experience with searx.me and I would have to reload to see if it happens with yours.
its not limited because of not being free software its just bugs like that.
