Exactly: only the binary and the data are copyrighted.  The copyright will  
last something like 70 years after the death of their authors (it depends on  
the country you live in and its future legislation).  The source code has  
never been released/copied (hence it is not copyrighted) and will never be  
unless their authors decide so.
