I asked you because sometimes the hardware can be too new for some kernels,  
so it would work on a recent distro like deb9 but not on an older one like  
say buguntu 16.04.

It's most certainly the ISO then, see below lodier's comment, which is  
basically what I advised you above - try burning a dvd of it.
