As for the cheaper printers currently in the market, I say the same thing that I would say about other hardware/devices: Imagine that our "free/libre software house" is burning (and it probably is already, because the number of blobs in the original Linux kernel keeps growing), now notice that the RYF-certified devices listed in the FSF page at [[https://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/endorsement/respects-your-freedom]] are the "big fire extinguishers", and the free/libre software friendly devices (those which are in the market but that we are lucky for finding out that they work, like the ones that have B or A grade in [[https://h-node.org/]]) are the "fire delayers".
Fire delayers only delay fire, but only big fire extinguishers can extinguish all the fire in the "burning free/libre software house". That said: if you are considering buying *new* hardware, buy those that are RYF-certified, this way we can keep the free/libre software movement alive. If you are getting used hardware, then contribute your tests/findings to h-node. -- - [[https://libreplanet.org/wiki/User:Adfeno]] - Palestrante e consultor sobre /software/ livre (não confundir com gratis). - "WhatsApp"?
