On Trisquel 7 (not Mini) with GDM (I do not remember if it used to work with  
LightDM, the default display manager in Trisquel), the screen does lock after  
some time specified in "Brightness & Lock" (in the "System Settings", that  
you can probably get on Trisquel Mini by installing the package named  
"gnome-control-center", but 'dconf' should be fine too).
