There is no need to do that: since Piriponzolo can login in a text session,  
he can simply type 'passwd' to change his password.  I would choose a  
one-letter password ("x" for instance, not a special character!) and see if  
that new simple password allows to log in the graphical session (from the  
text session, type Alt+F7 to get back to the graphical session).  That does  
not solve the problem (more investigation required).  Nevertheless, that may  
make the graphical session usable again!
