This same behaviour is reproducible for me running both Trisquel 8 and Fedora
27 on the same machine.
Both of them gave me this log: kvm [7216]: vcpu0, guest rIP:
0xffffffff810512d8 disabled perfctr wrmsr: 0xc1 data 0xffff
The installer also hangs in the same situation than yours does. I have looked
on the internet and the "rest_init+0x90/0x90" is usually a kernel panic
message due to the system not being able to mount the root file system.
However, all the information that I have found about my log message is that
it is a non harmful warning. Some help would be very appreciated :)
