Xubuntu is just a flavor of Ubuntu, its the same o/s with different defaults.
If you like Xubuntu it just means you like XFCE with a certain theme, all of
that can be easily done within Trisquel. Here is a recent thread with links

Trisquel already uses the same "base" as Xubuntu, there is nothing to change.
My only complaint with Xubuntu (and XFCE in general) is how porky it has
gotten, there is no reason in hell Xubuntu needs to be bigger than a cd
image...yet the new version is more than a gig in size. That is completely
absurd.
