Really? Because not all undesirable things can be avoided at this time we 
should not try to avoid any of them? Suppose I approached you from behind and 
punched you in the back of the head. You turn around and realize that I am 
about to punch you again. Do you say, "Gladly (or otherwise) getting punched in 
the back of the head, and yet protecting myself from getting punched in the 
face, is just... strange. Go for it!"

you're right that this might allow us to avoid even more undesirable things, 
and I appreciate that you are looking toward a positive solution rather 
responding to current obstacles by becoming complacent.
