Trisquel's icon theme is the problem. An easy workaround is to change that
theme. To easily do so, install "GNOME Tweak Tool" (the package bears the
same name), launch it and, in Appearance, select another theme for "Icons".
If you like Trisquel's, choose "Gnome-brave", which is very similar.
