I had the same issue, not specific to Trisquel by the way.. So to solve it
definitely, I use now a router with librecmc instead of the spying tool
"router" provided by my ISP.
I configured a WAN interface on which I replaced my ISP DNS with custom DNS.
This way, even if there are "leaks", those will be from the custom DNS, not
my ISP.
Most of the time though, I never experienced leaks with AirVPN though. (Their
connection manager is really nice) I use IPv4 only as well.
Of course, many ISP don't allow to use anything except their "approved"
router. Even in "bridge" sometimes..
