PSI-Plot is proprietary software.  Apparently, you only face problem with  
that program.  No free software program you could use instead?  R is not easy  
to learn but there are simpler (although not as powerful) alternatives such  
as PSPP, SciDAVis, etc.

Observation: you only run one operating system.  Having multiple  
distributions installed cannot be the problem.
